2020 Pride Weekend With ISC

ISC and Pride While most of our beloved teams won't be able to host a Pride Night celebration of their own this season, we didn't want to let the Pride spirit pass us by entirely. To that end, we've got two programs we want to make you aware of.

Pride Interview Series

To help us celebrate Pride this year, we enlisted some friends to tell us about their experiences. What does it mean to be LGBTQIA+ in the soccer environment? To answer this question, we're hosting a series of Instagram Live interviews with members of the LGBTQIA+ community connected to our soccer community.

Stay tuned to our social media channels to learn more about each of the guests in our Pride Interview Series, and submit questions for our interviewers to ask here.

From Torsten at Pride Sport:

(Torsten is a friend of the ISC, and met with our reps at an international supporters conference in 2019.)

The COVID-19 pandemic has had a devastating impact on Pride organizations worldwide, with hundreds of pride events and prides having to be cancelled or postponed.

Due to those worldwide postponements and cancellations, Pride organizations from all over the world have joined forces to organize a Global Pride on Saturday, June 27, 2020. We, the Lesbian and Gay Association Germany (LSVD), Football fans against homophobia (FfaH), Queer Football Fan Clubs (QFF), Football Supporters Europe (FSE) and the Network F_in Women in Football want to participate along with the worldwide sports in the Global Pride, with a social media campaign under the hashtag #SportPride2020.

Together with stakeholders from sports, we want to make LGBTI+ in sport more visible on this day than ever before. Everybody takes part! We are countless! – United we are strong and proud! Together we appeal to queer and non-queer sports federations, sport clubs, athletes, professionals, amateurs and recreational athletes, fans, supporters, allies and other stakeholders in sport worldwide to make a statement for LGBTI+ in sport on this day under the hashtags #SportPride2020 and #GlobalPride.
