Sport Pride 2020 - Join Us!

DOSB (German Olypmic Sports Confederation) and DFB (German Football Association) support #SportPride2020

Social media campaign for Global Pride on 27/06/2020

This Saturday, June 27, 2020, the social media campaign #SportPride2020 (all information on http://sportpride.net/) will be launched on the occasion of Global Pride. It is supported by over XX associations, clubs and individuals. Everyone is invited to participate in the campaign on Saturday, 27th June.

From big associations such as the German Olympic Sports Confederation or the German Football Association to numerous sports clubs as well as athletes* and individuals - numerous players* will participate. It is so important that they and all of us proactively and publicly make clear that we stand behind all athletes* and stand as allies for open and nondiscriminatory sport. Sport is for everyone!

Everyone can join in! With the social media campaign #SportPride2020, the Lesbian and Gay Association Germany, the Football Fans against Homophobia, the Queer Football Fan Clubs, F_in Network Women in Football and Football Supporters Europe want to use the Global Pride on 27/06/2020 to make lesbians, gays, bisexuals, transgender and intersexual people (LGBTI+) visible in sport worldwide and to stand up for a discrimination-free sport.

Separated in club colours, united in cause: For #SportPride2020 fans network across club borders, sports, and continents and take associations and clubs to task. Thus explains the Independent Supporters Council, the largest fan network in North America:

"As part of our mission to #growthegame, the ISC and our member groups have long supported the LGBTQ community within soccer. We firmly believe that soccer is for everyone, regardless of gender identity, sexual orientation, race, ethnicity, or socioeconomic status. The SportPride initiative is one we're eager to support, and we look forward to seeing how other organizations worldwide participate."

Event note: Saturday, 27th June from 7pm to 8pm CET in German
