Solidarity Beyond the Stands: Ensuring Safety For All Fans

Soccer is a global game that brings people together - no borders, just unity. As an organization committed to inclusion, safety, and belonging for all members of our soccer community, we are deeply saddened and troubled that supporters and fans feel unable to attend matches due to concerns for their personal safety and well-being.

We want to affirm clearly and without reservation: everyone deserves to be treated with dignity and to feel safe and welcome in our shared spaces, no matter where they are from.

We express our solidarity with those who are impacted and will continue working to ensure that our matches, gatherings, and communities are as accessible, inclusive, and supportive as possible.

To further that commitment, the Independent Supporters Council will be developing and distributing resources that our member groups can use to navigate and respond to different situations—whether at matches, in their local communities, or online. These tools will include guidance on safety planning, allyship, de-escalation, and advocating for the protection of fans of all immigration statuses, especially in moments of uncertainty or heightened risk.

Our mission has always been—and will remain—centered on community, respect, and unity. We see you. We value you. And we are here for you—not just in words, but in action.

A group project meant our team was exchanging updates, screenshots, and small corrections throughout the day. Keeping everything on my phone became inconvenient whenever I needed to edit something on my laptop. WhatsApp web gave me another way to follow the conversation while staying focused on the project. Finding recent messages and replying to teammates was simple enough once the account was connected. For people coordinating work or studies through group chats, using a larger screen can make communication easier to manage.

Your insights on fan safety are incredibly important, especially in the context of creating inclusive environments at events. It makes me think about how initiatives like "Slope Run" can further promote community engagement and ensure that all fans feel secure and valued when enjoying sports together. Integrating technology in these strategies could enhance real-time communication on issues of safety as well!

This heartfelt and practical message from the Association is truly heartwarming and appreciated! Football should really be a place that connects everyone, no matter where you come from. Sometimes life is like a Dordle game—we face many complex challenges at once, but the ultimate goal is to find common ground and the perfect solution. Thank you to the Association for not only speaking out but also acting to ensure that all fans feel safe, respected, and truly belong to this community.
